Left-Handers Day

There is a group of the world’s population (about 13%) that has long been viewed by the other 87% with suspicious eyes. In fact, the term “sinister” is derived from a term for these individuals. For ages, they were viewed as possibly cursed by God, as well as being untrustworthy. Children found with this inclination were forced in schools to become like the majority in a misguided attempt to spare them from the bane of who they were.
I’m speaking about the left-handers among us.
Today’s FamilyFirst site is the official one of Left-Handers Day (August 13). It is also the home site of the Left-Handers Club. Here’s their mission:

Welcome to the official site for the Left-Handers Club, and the 12th annual celebration of left-handers superiority!! All year round, we fit in with home and office layouts designed for right-handers’ comfort – put up with doors, cookers, sinks, computer mice, keyboards and desks that are efficient for right-handers to work at, and hundreds of times every day we contort ourselves using back-to-front tools and gadgets that make us look clumsy and awkward in our efforts to make them to work.
What’s here? Lots of neat stuff. For example, check out these fascinating left-handed facts: Most left-handers draw figures facing to the right. 4 of the 5 original designers of the Macintosh computer were left-handed. Left-handers are generally more intelligent, better looking, imaginative and multi-talented than right handers ( based on discussions among members of the Left-Handers Club! :).
Also, read up on left-handed history. Did you know that cave drawings show prehistoric men using tools in both hands evenly, and it wasn’t until tools became more sophisticated that handedness became depicted?
So have fun at today’s left-handed FamilyFirst site.
